2018 Day of Feis Information

Preliminary Championship Information (2 Rounds) 

  • 2 rounds (Hard Shoe & Soft Shoe) -- NEW for 2018! 
  • PC competitions will be adjudicated by 6 judges with 2 rotating panels of 3 judges for each round
  • PC competitions will dance their Hard Shoe round first
  • PC competitions will take place in the morning following the conclusion of team competitions (will not begin before 8:30am) 
  • PC/OC Stages in Event Center I on 1st floor
  • PC Awards will be announced during the Lunch Break in Event Center II following the Treble Reel competitions 
  • PC Set Dance competitions offered -- NEW for 2018! These competitions are separate from the championship and will take place in the afternoon on the grades stages 
  • PC/OC Blind Treble Reel will take place at the start of the lunch break on PC/OC stages. Ages U9-U11, U12-U14 & U15+. Charity Treble Reel and all proceeds will be given to the Blinded Veterans Association -- NEW for 2018! 

 Open Championship Information (3 Rounds)

  • 3 rounds (Hard Shoe, Soft Shoe & Set Dance) 
  • OC competitions will be adjudicated by 9 judges with 3 rotating panels of 3 judges for each round
  • OC competitions will dance their Hard Shoe round first 
  • Boys & Girls OC competitions will be separate & competitions will be split into single-age groups where entries permit 
  • Boys OC competitions will take place in the morning following the conclusion of team competitions -- NEW for 2018!
  • Girls OC competitions will take place immediately following the lunch break 
  • PC/OC Stages in Event Center I on 1st floor 
  • Boys OC Awards will be announced during the Lunch Break in Event Center II
  • Girls OC Awards will be announced at the end of the day in Event Center II (please note awards for competitions that are finished can be announced while other competitions are still finishing their set dance round) 
  • PC/OC Blind Treble Reel will take place at the start of the lunch break on PC/OC stages. Ages U9-U11, U12-U14 & U15+. Charity Treble Reel and all proceeds will be given to the Blinded Veterans Association -- NEW for 2018! 

 Grade Level (First Feis, Beginner 1, Beginner 2, Novice & Prizewinner) Information

  • Feis begins promptly at 8am with TEAM competitions
  • First Feis, Beginner 1, Beginner 2 & Adult competitions will start at approximately 8:30am or immediately following the conclusion of the team competitions (will not begin before 8:30am) -- NEW for 2018! 
  • Novice & Prizewinner competitions will begin following the conclusion of FF, Beg 1, Beg 2 & Adult competitions -- NEW for 2018! These competitions can take place before and after the scheduled lunch break 
  • Second Chance competitions offered for Novice & Prizewinner dancers in Reel, Slip Jig, Treble Jig, Hornpipe & Traditional Set. These competitions will take place following the conclusion of the regular Novice & Prizewinner competitions -- NEW for 2018! 
  • Grade Stages in ballroom on 2nd floor
  • Grades Blind Treble Reel will take place at the start of the lunch break on the grades stages. Ages U9-U11, U12-U14 & U15+. Charity Treble Reel and all proceeds will be given to the Blinded Veterans Association -- NEW for 2018!
